COMPANY INTRODUCTION

‘Kumann’ was a custom-made women’s wear studio founded in 1965 by EunHwan Oh. As her business matured, in 1979, she launched her ready-to-wear brand, ‘OH EUN HWAN Boutique’, which is one of the well-respected designer brands in Korea. ‘Kumann’ has been revived by HyeJin yoo since the year 2010, as a new high-end, avant-garde brand with a novel contemporary character. She has been newly developing imaginative shapes and structures in the search of new potentials of fabrication. One-of-a kind silhouettes and constructive style rooted in her fine arts career, reshape the character of the brand, ‘Kumann’ embracing the spirit of innovation.

회사소개

1965년 디자이너 오은환은 의상실 ‘꾸망[ku-mang]’ 개업을 시작으로 하여, 1979년 ‘오은환 부틱(OH EUN HWAN Boutique)’을 설립, 기성복 라인을 전개해 왔으며, 2010년, 디자이너 유혜진이 스튜디오의 전통과 혁신성을 이어 글로벌 브랜드화하기 쉬운 알파벳의 이름, ‘쿠만(KUMANN)’ 으로 음역(transliterated)하여 새로운 브랜드로 리바이브했다. 이에 따라 회사명은 ‘쿠만 오은환’으로, 브랜드로는 부티크 라인을 유지하는 ‘쿠만 오은환(KUMANN OH EUN HWAN)’ 과 하이-엔드, 아방 가르드 라인의 ‘쿠만 유혜진(KUMANN YOO HYE JIN)’, 캐쥬얼, 컨템포러리의 ‘케이 쿠만(K.Kumann)’의 세 라인업으로 전개하고 있다.
